My crazy week – why I haven’t blogged
Oh where do I even begin? Hmmm….Thursday, I'll pick Thursday.
Thursday night I was lucky enough to attend a Progressive dinner with my ladies group at church. We meet one night a month for various activities and I am on the planning commitee.. Anyhow…I was really excited because I had also planned on it being the end of a 10 day juice fast I had completed. (I'll post about that later, but I felt awesome… www.fatsickandnearlydead.com for my inspiration) It was WONDERFUL.
Friday morning I woke up startled at about 4:45…my mind racing. I tried and tried to get back to sleep but couldn't. I turned on my laptop to send a text to my hubby who was working but I saw a text from him instead. It said that there was an Officer involved shooting in his area and that one officer was hit but ok. I honestly think I woke up whenhis mind started racing. He ended up only being a little bit late coming home. Needless to say it got my morning off to a little bit of an emotional and crazy start. I had soooo much to do that day and it just shook me up. I had my oldest son's birthday party scheduled for Saturday and still hadn't decorated or started the cakes. Thank goodness I had the idea of enlisting my kindergartner for help. He actually helped! Thanks to a clingy baby though, I wasn't able to start working on the cakes until after dinner. I had quite a few issues with the cakes and was so frustrated…my Mom got the "help me" phone call, a wonderful friend delivered a bag of powdered sugar at 10 o'clock thanks to a desperate Facebook plea….I didn't go to bed until after 1:30 but I felt good and had made quite a bit of progress.
Saturday morning I woke up early to work before the baby woke up, and I was able to get the cakes almost done. I was so blessed that I had the idea to have him take a long nap and he did – over 4 hours!!! I got everything done I needed to and we were able to throw a great party! We ROCKED the Phineas and Ferb theme, with lots of food and activities inspired by our favorite show ever.
All was great until about 8 o'clock when we were "winding down' with just a few of our closest friends and the kids and Dad were playing Guitar hero. My sis in law and I were having fun dancing along until I dislocated my knee so bad I couldn,t see straight. Litterally fell to the ground, screaming in pain. My hubby, who is used to seeing everykind of bodily injury possible didn't know what to do. After about a minute and a half of my knee on the outside of my leg we were able to coax it back in. I had such severe pain from my hip to my ankle, we decided to take me to the ER to rule out any other damage. Hours later, and an xray I left with an imobilizing brace, some pain meds and a very tired hubby.
Anyhow….lots of info about my life…but here are a few photos of the party anyhow!
My cakes for my son…a labor of love
"BUSTED" Balloon Pop game
right before Mom's accident….LOL
Anyhow, hope you enjoyed. I did make all of my little signs on MDS….does that count? LOL At least I know I've got some recovery time to work on some MDS pages.
Hope you had a great weekend and a great week!
