My Digital Studio Blog Hop Remembrance

This week the talented Heather Summers chose the theme of "Remembrance". I know that Canada observes Remembrance Day as we observe Veteran's Day. I knew who I wanted to feature, just wasn't sure I would get the chance with all the craziness that has been my life this week! I will post on that later, I want today's post to focus on someone very special in my life, my Step-Dad, Russ.

Russ married my mom just 2 months after I married Ryan 8 years ago. From day one he has made sure that my brother and I know how important we are. He raised 4 children of his own while serving in the USMC for 30 years. He is a Veteran of the Vietnam War, continues to support fellow Vets through many Veteran's organizations, and I am so grateful he is in my life. He loves my mom in a wonderfully special way. He looks at her with a sparkle in his eyes, he supports her, takes care of her. He is a great Papa to my boys, they adore him. He always has room on his lap, he is patient, kind, funny. He loves garage sales and gadgets, his family and country. I love him.

This page nowhere compares to how great of a man he is, but I hope that he will see it and know that I am proud and so happy that he is a part of my life.

  • Shifted focus…

Sorry no new posts. Had to shift focus for a few days. Wife and Mother always come first, business comes next. That being said, I feel that I've been very successful this week at truly investing my time where it is most important. Making my home the haven I desire, supporting my hubby (who by…

I have actually had this idea in my head for almost a year, and figured it was time to finally make it happen!  After I die cut the butterfly, and added a light wash of Mint Macaron, I ran some Tear & Tape around the edge on the back. I then very carefully, with a…
