We Create Blog Hop – Stepped Up, Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday!
Hope y'all had a great Halloween. It's a little hard for me to believe that November is already here! It is the first of the month though, and that means a new "Step It Up" Blog Hop with the We Create Blog Hop gals!
My nephew recently turned 13, and as many of you know, boys cards can be difficult. Mostly I think because we want to fancy them up. Despite the fact that he deserves the "fancy" one, I actually gave him the simple one – it seemed a little more appropriate for a teenage boy!
I stuck with a bold, graphic color combo of Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, and Lemon Lime Twist with Black, White and some Silver Glimmer Paper. Thank goodness for this Happy Birthday Thinlit – I use it all the time for boy cards!
I made a few changes for a Stepped Up version –
I basically kept it the same, just adding a little bit of embossing on the strips and matting them on some Whisper White to help them pop a little more. I also added a little bling…. now this card could be perfect for just about anyone!
Please enjoy the rest of the blog hop - Lynn is up next, can't wait to see what's she's come up with.
Hope you have a great day and don't forget to go create something!
Cool! I love the embossing on the stepped up version. What a great card for a teenager. The white mat really makes that card pop!
Wow – I like both!! I agere the first one is more “teen”. Thanks for sharing!
OMG, what a fun card! I bet he LOVED it 😀 Thanks for sharing!
I love that you didn’t use stamps! I need to use that thinlit more, these are darling!
