We Create Blog Hop – Welcome 2017, Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You

 Hi, Welcome Back!!!!

Welcome to my very first post of 2017! I'm ready for a new year, I love new starts. It's time to put some things behind me. I can't pretend that 2016 was a great year, I think that's where my inspiration came for today's cards.

WCBH Stampin' Up! Beautiful You Jeanna Bohanon 1

I love the imagery and sentiments in this new set, Beautiful You coming out on the 4th! This one seemed most appropriate.

Here is a quick and simple version:

WCBH Stampin' Up! Beautiful You Jeanna Bohanon 2

I stamped the image in Archival Basic Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock so that I could watercolor it. A thin strip of Basic Black cardstock makes the main image pop.

I only made a few changes to my stepped up version. In this one I matted it on the Basic Black script pattern from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. I also added some dimension to the umbrella. I didn't want a full dimensional under it, so I stamped it twice on scrap paper and cut it out. A little extra water color around the image adds to the feel, and makes the main image pop.

  1. Love the stormy look on the stepped up card. This set is next on my list and I can’t wait to see if I can recreate this effect.

  2. I hear you, 2016 was a tough year for me and my family also, thank you for all your inspiration and beautiful projects Jeanna! I absolutely love both of these cards, here’s to brighter days ahead!

  3. I can’t wait to play with this set. I love how just a little bit of shading really creates a “mood” for the card.
