OSAT Blog Hop – Simple Stamping with Stampin’ Up! Humming Along

 Happy Valentine's Day! I LOVE today – I love it for so many reasons, but the main one is that it's my son't birthday!!! Today he turns 13!!! So hard to believe! I have been one busy Mama. SO glad I was able to get in some stamping time this week, I NEEDED it – OSAT and simple stamping to the rescue! I created this set of Thank You cards for my youngest son's GATE teacher to send to a few organizations that helped pull together their recent field trip to the local bird sanctuary. Humming along seemed like a natural choice.

 I found a picture of one of the hummingbirds that are in our area, and fell in love with the colors of this one, and knew that it would make for a stunning card!

  The watercolor pencils are perfect for getting great blending on this bird. Keeping it simple, I didn't use any punches or any Big Shot items, so I needed to find ways to add visual interest. Adding the large tone-on-tone stamped image on the card base, and matting the sentiment strip with Silver Glimmer paper were two easy ways to do this.

 I did use 2 circle punches on the jar though, but I figured it would make a super cute little gift for his hard working teacher. I found these great little plastic jars at the Dollar Tree in the Valentine section. I think I need to see if they have any more….
