OSAT Blog Hop – Designer’s Choice
Ta-Dah! I'm excited to be joining this great Blog-Hop team for a fun, monthly hop! This month's theme is a "Designer's Choice" and the only guideline set was to create a project and a card!
It's STILL in the 100s here and I am ready for some September weather. It looks like I will have to wait 2 more weeks or so according to the extended forecast…. blehhhhh….
So to get me in to the Autumn mood anyhow (take THAT weather!) I decided to combine two great sets from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog, Acorny Thank You and Among the Branches….
I love the crispness of the Whisper White, Kraft and Embossed Gold…
I can't seem to get over Calypso Coral, Gold and Pool Party together! TIP: To get a little more depth to these, I inked the solid bottom part of the acorn and stamped it on scrap paper first, then stamped it on Whisper White without re-inking to give me a lighter shade, then the patterned top pieces I stamped like normal!
Those crinkled up circles under the acorns are actually from the Sketched Dots Tag A Bag Gift Bags. TIP: To easily punch out the glassine paper these are made with, slide a piece of scrap cardstock inside the bag and punch away!
Don't miss opportunities to add texture! TIP: I simply pulled the boxes apart at the seam and ran them through the Big Shot with the AWESOME, "have to have it" Woodland embossing folder and then glued them back together.
This fun little trio of embellished Mini Treat Boxes just HAD to have a coordinating card, right?
This was such a fun ensemble to put together, and I hope that you enjoyed it, maybe even found some inspiration in it somewhere.
