Monochromatic MDS

MDS-Blog-Hop-001cw

Let me start by saying that I LOVE designing in monochromatic color schemes. They are very pleasing to me, and before I had the options of My Digital Studio, I did not use a lot of contrasting color schemes or Designer Papers in my scrapbooks, because I was intimidated by them! With MDS, I love that I can go in and delete and change my mind.

This is my Mom on Mother's Day. I gave her a cute little gift ensemble that we had made at a class I gave – it was a Becky Roberts purse, gift cards, a candle, chocolates and a card for her. My Mom loves blue so the one I made for her was Island Indigo, later that day, my brother and sis-in-law gave her this beautiful shirt….in Island Indigo! We did not coordinate before hand either!

Almost the entire page came from the Fan Fare Collection, I LOVE the embellishments in this collection even though I am not usually a "pretty" kind of designer. I also used the new Natural Organics Overlays – I LOVE LOVE LOVE this download. If you like TEXTURE and worry about the lack of texture in digital designing, this is a perfect overlay for you, crumpled papers, fabrics….it's YUMMY!

I actually did a monochromatic version of this same card for a swap last year, and because it was so popular, I decided to do it again, although this time I wanted to step it a little, so I added the watercoloring. I did all the stamping in craft ink so it was nice and…
