#tgifc297 Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia in an Unexpected Color Combo
Good morning and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I, like probably many of you am very much looking forward to a brand new year. I mean, I always do, but of course this year is a little different. I love the clean slate feel of a brand new calendar. I love the thought of great new possibilities and leaving the challenges of a year behind. We can probably all agree that this year has been a DOOZY! I will say, I have been handed more challenges than I ever imagined. At least one thing is constant for me, I have the opportunity to create and that is the best therapy for me!
I love color, so this one was a bit of a challenge. At first I wanted to do something cute and fun, and pulled out the Zany Zebra set, then I had an idea of focusing on the BLACK, especially while we mourn our Whisper White, and await our new Basic White cardstock.
I do love the elegant look of it. I embossed the magnolia with White Stampin' Emboss Powder, then traced a rectangle frame around the image. I then hand cut the rectangle as well as around the leaves. It's layered on a Whisper White scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly die. In order to save as much Whisper White as possible, I actually cut that layer from the middle of the main layer.
