#tgifc275 Inspired by Plaid and Sunflowers? Jar of Flowers from Stampin’ Up! to the Rescue!
Hello and Happy Friday! I am SO HAPPY!!! Not only is it Friday, but after the last 3 months of working outside of the home, doing my contract job at the hotels, I am DONE working – for a while. It's been a wonderful opportunity, but I am happy to be back at home with my boys and back in my STAMP ROOM! So when I had the opportunity to get some "therapy" in, I chose to play with some water-coloring and not only the beautiful Jar of Flowers stamp set, but a few other new products I hadn't played with yet!
This inspiration was right up my ally. I love the country feel of plaids/gingham prints and sunflowers! I know I tend to run to my go-to Stampin' Blends Markers for coloring, I thought I would shake things up a little and do a little no-line water coloring. It's a really fun technique, where you stamp in a light color ink, then color in, using ink and a water brush. I might have been a little crazy!!!
I really do love watercoloring, and don't do it very often any more. I will admit, it's not the quickest technique!
Despite the time invested, it was a fun card to create. I paired my water-color piece with a scrap of Mossy Meadow gingham print paper from an adorable Designer Series Paper that will be available in just a few days in our August-December catalog. I also added a fun little touch, by pulling a few threads from some Denim Ribbon for a casual bow.
Do you see that little "V" banner end on the "friend" layer? Do you panic on cutting your own? Maybe struggle a little getting it even, or too deep? Well, we have the best new punch for you!!! It's a GREAT Pick-A-Punch, and will add the PERFECT "V" end in any strip of paper, 1/2", 3/4", or 1" !!! Looking for the "V" to point out instead? IT DOES THAT TOO!!! See!!! You NEED IT!
