Ponderings……What’s your opinion?
As I was noticing that I am about to hit another milestone on my site counter (subliminal message – BLOG CANDEEEEE…..), I was thinking a few things….
I am really trying to make an effort to make my life a little easier, and with two toddler boys, I have realized that it is no small task. One thing that I have decided is that from now on I would like to try to stick to strictly Stampin’Up! products in my projects that I post. How do you feel about that as a reader? Do you think that would make you more or less inclined to check my blog more often?
As a SU demo, it is definitely in my best interest. However, I know that there are a lot of "trendier" products out there. Are you as a blog reader searching for those super trendy products or are you a SU customer/demo that would rather spend your blog browsing time on perhaps a blog that could help inspire you to use your SU products more? I hope you understand what I am asking…… I find that I have deleted from my personal blog browsing list a lot of blogs that seem to feature primarily other stamp companies and more time on the ones that showcase fantastic SU samples. Have you even thought about this?
Anyhow, I’d really like to know your opinion so if you would, please post a comment and then when my counter passes 25,000 (Holy Whack-a-Moly that’s crazy in itself!) I will post some blog candy, and everyone who leaves their opinion on this post will be entered. Thanks for your continued reading of my blog and your opinions!

I’ve started only checking blogs that I know feature SU products. I just don’t get as excited to see other companies things as I do SU stuff. I guess it’s because I, too want to be using what I’m selling. SO, I’m all for it!
Well.. I agree with you that as a SU demonstrator it is in your best interest to use only SU products. I always find it inspiring to see SU products used because I am always looking for an excuse to spend money on the catalogue.
It makes no difference to me…I like quality work no matter what stamp, paper or ink is there! Cheers!
Hello! Great blog! I am a stamping reader. I love blogs because of the inspiration I always get. Thank you for the chanceQ
I like a variety of companies and ideas-I am sorta bored by the same 5 stamp sets and the same inks etc. I do buy SU stamps but they account for only about 10% of my stamp purchases. I dont know the name of the colors of cardstocks as I dont buy any from SU-just Stamps.
I love to look and always am happy to see something new and exciting but some of the blogs I see are the same thing every day and I have started unsubbing. I just found you today so I am gonna explore now. Have fun creating stuff-I will be back soon as I am now on your email feed.
Hi there, as an SU demo myself I enjoy seeing products from them exclusively in a project! It gives me inspiration for my own;)! I do enjoy however, seeing things from other companies because a lot of times you can switch them over to SU only! Tough choice but I completely understand why you’re doing it! Your kids are adorable by the way! Good luck with your decision.
Well, my opinion here is just that. As a SU demo, I can see why you would choose to show only SU products because how will you sell your product if you’re advertising someone else’s? However, I as a blogger (not a demo) will use & BUY lots of other products (although SU CS & inks are the best) Basically because it catches my eye on a blog and I fall in love with it(another reason it is in your best interest to feature something YOU can sell).
I love SU products & understand completely why you would stay with SU only. Your style of cards are inspiring. Thanks for a chance at this sweet mystery candy. Congrats on your hits.
I am an SU! Demo and I like to see other blogs that feature SU! Stamps. They have such great products and I am always looking for a new and different ways to use them. I love your blog by the way!
I have pretty much stopped looking at blogs that are not to do with SU. As a demo I am always looking for inspiration on ways to use all of the sets and other products that SU sell. I will definitely be checking back more often to see how you are using SU products. Thanks so much.
I am looking for inspiration to use my SU products. I am not a demo but have tons of SU goodies. I like the other stuff too, but love to see SU ideas. Thanks for asking our opinion.
Cheryl Sims
I just looking at other people’s blogs for inspiration and learn a bit about people through more than just their designs. Blogs give us a chance to get to know someone a bit more so for me it doens’t matter what kind of stamps that someone uses. For me I would find it hard to stick to just buying stamps from one vendor but being a demo I can see your point.
I am not a SU demo, just a loyal customer. I prefer to browse blogs that feature SU products. An occasional accessory from elsewhere if unavailable through SU is okay. Jenny
Hi, I am a first time visitor to your blog! I think you should post on your blog what you feel comfortable with. I have listed in my favorites both blogs who are exclusive to SU products and those who mix it up. They are in my favorites not because of the product, but the style of the artist and how that “clicks” with my style. Good luck with your decision; it’s your blog, so you should do what feels good to you! Thanks for the chance to win blog candy.
I am a SU demo and I prefer to look at blogs with only SU products, as I am always looking for new ideas and inspiration for classses, workshops and my own personal projects. I always love to see more SU ideas!
As a Stampin’ Up Demo I prefer sites that feature Stampin’ Up product. I will look at others and think what Stampin’ Upproducts can I use in place of that. The products used does not make me choose the site, it is the quality of the work and the information posted that guides me to my daily blog list however if the site contains SU! product it makes it much easier for me to share with my customers.
Hello! I think that going to a strictly SU blog would be nice. It would be good for your business and we would all know to go to your site for ideas. I have a lot of SU stuff, but don’t know what to do with half of it, so I would like to see creative uses for some of the stamp sets that may not be as popular (like the set Good Things Grow). I know it’s hard keeping up with my toddler daughter, I can’t imagine having two!!! Thanks!
For me it makes no difference. Alot of SU product I prefer and I am in a SU stamp club, so cards with SU suit me fine!

For your intentions, to simplify your life — maybe a single-focus blog is good. However, if you are stamping with other mfgs, then it wouldn’t be “adding” to your load. One way is to Label all your posts, maybe have SU! labels, and Others? That way those people who only want to see SU products can click on those.
I am not a demo and love lots of different products, so I love seeing it all.
I know one blogger who has 2 blogs – one for her SU! creations and one for others. This seems like A LOT of work though 😉
I’m not a SU rep, though I do love and have in my “collection” of stamps, several SU sets. I teach card-making classes at the LSS, so I’m always trying out new stamps, both WM and clear (which I love) and I read the blogs looking for ideas and inspiration. I’m not looking for any specific use of product, though I do appreciate a good product review, which I see on occasion in my reading of blogs.
I personally love looking at ideas regardless of the company. I have discovered some new companies that way but I’m always thinking how I can do that same idea with the supplies and stamps that I have.
are you saying you dont like my bellas…hehehe do what ya like! It would be better for business and dont listen to that crazy person who says have another blog all together cause she didnt READ that you are tring to simpilify your life not add more to it. All Stampin Up!!! Wait I dont think my comment counts cause you know me hehehehe…and I will go along with anything you decide.
Hi Jeanne!
Wow…your counter should hit that magic number really soon!!!
Thanks for offering candy so we can help you celebrate 🙂
SU was my introduction to stamping.
Most of my products are SU.
I am always looking for blogs that feature SU.
I’m glad I found yours!
To answer your question…I like to see SU samples because I am more likely to have the products to try them.
I think you should do whatever is right for you, and we will all come here to see your great creations, regardless of what company the products are from! I personally love to see samples with SU stuff, because that is what I have the most of!
So glad you asked! Personally, I LOVE the blogs that use primarily Stampin’ Up! products (probably because I’m a demo!). I really think that AS a SU demo, the majority of our products used SHOULD be SU. Why wouldn’t you?
ok I used to be a stamp whore… I didn’t care where it was from and I love all trands! lol. But now that I’m a demo for SU… lol. the only hard thing I find is I dont have a lot of SU product and assesories and I need to use up my “other” stash! I go to web site for the freinds and for the layouts and techniques so if you went to just SU that would be cool. what ever you do is awesome!
I like seeing things featuring SU so that gives me ideas on what to use my sets on. I do also go to other non SU sites for ideas too. No matter what your decision, I will keep coming back here, because I love your work!!
I am a lover of it all…I think SU is a very polished company…I say go for it!!!
Hugs,
Lisa B <><
I just posted blog candy too!!!
SU stuff definitely catches my attention more, just because that is what I have and use most. I like to see other things, but SU stuff is fun because I can duplicate and case it easier. 🙂 Not sure if that helps … lol
I love Stampin Up stuff. Your blog is always so inspiring, I really enjoy it.
Claudia
Hi!
I get updates on your blog from Google reader and will continue to do so no matter what you choose. That being said, I’m also a SU demo and understand the dilemma. I have been guilty of buying alot of ‘trendy contraband’ lately. The Bellas, PaperTrey among others. I’m a hobby demo and don’t sell SU! as a business, so I really don’t worry too much about it. I LOVE SU! samples for the inspiration, but enjoy other bloggers who use some of the other products I also really like. I think the most important thing is what’s best for you and your SU! business. Good luck in whatever you decide, and I’ll still be reading every post either way!
Heather L.
I will continue reading your blog no matter what co you use for your creations!!! 😀
I really like blogs that combine them both … the best of both world so to speak.
I look mostly at blogs where the blogger uses stampin up. I am a new demo and I need all the inspiration I can find. I love your blog and check daily. Thanks for your inspiration. Mary
I really love Stampin Up products, so it is nice to see items from them, but I don’t mind seeing some other stamp sets once in a while, but you have been doing a great job so far and keep it up this way
I like reading all thypes of blogs. I totally understand your idea to stick with SU samples. As a demo that is an excellent idea. If you look at it from a customer perspective…if I found my demos site and she was making a ton of beautiful cards with products from another company I would be inclinded to think she endorses those other companies and start buying from them instead of her. Personally I mostly use Stampin’ Up stamps and like to browse for ideas using stamps that I have.
We see so many SU cards on SCS that it’s fun to see the variety that other companies have to offer. If a blog only has SU products, I would still enjoy it if the cards are my style and the blog is a fun place to visit. (perhaps offering fun photos and tutorials) So the company is not as important to me as the quality of the blog:)
I think it’s a good idea to stay with just SU! products. Since I use mostly SU! myself, I would love to see mainly that company’s products. I subscribe thru your RSS feed so I can check daily when you have a new post. I don’t always comment, but be sure I am checking out your work & loving what I see!
I don’t mind seeing SU only – I think it does take a little more work on your part, and I appreciate it!!

I really like the SU products – most of my collection is from them. But, I also like the Bellas and other dp out there. Thanks for a chance.
I’m not a demo and use mostly SU!, but lots of other companies too. Whatever you use, I think we can just use what we have with the same tech, idea, etc.
Hi Jeanna,
First, just let me say, you do beautiful work and I always enjoy visiting your blog. I think it’s totally up to you, though, if you’d like to do only SU samples on your site, or if you want to add in some other stamp companies stamps, as well.
Although I enjoy seeing a mixture, myself, I certainly wouldn’t stop visiting you just because you decided to only showcase SU samples. Not sure if you’re interested in the extra work, but I have seen many bloggers set up two different blogs. One to showcase their assorted works of art and one to showcase just their SU/CTMH/Angel Company etc. work. Just a thought.
Good luck with what ever you decide. 🙂
I like seeing good quality stamping. To me it doesn’t matter what company you are using, because I can always get layout ideas or other things out of the examples. However, I don’t really like reading people’s long personal stories, or photos of family reunions or other things on a stamping blog. That’s not what I am looking for.
Personally, I like a good mix, but if you do strictly SU, I would continue visiting your blog.
NancyS(Momsnack)
I like to see SU products since I am a demo. I like to see other samples as well.. mostly for card layouts and use of embellishing. I am always looking for new techniques and there are many blogs that inspire me. Thank you for sharing…
Kim 🙂
I understand why you do it as a demo. But as a buyer only I use what I can affoard/get and I love variation. But seeing things on blogs do get me inspired and if I see something I love I might be more likely to buy it. On the other hand using it with other products might show your buyers that they can use SU products even if they don’t own the whole package.
So I should be a demo with all the stamps and supplies I have….(I mean, A LOT). I like to see stuff like the Bellas, and I do really like Papertrey Ink’s images, so I’m glad people branch out a little, so that I can also. But most of the time, I’m glad it’s purely Stampin’ Up so that I can get inspiration to use all the stamps I’m hoarding. I hope you do what’s best for you, but I’ll be checking your blog regardless.
I love a variety so I visit different blogs. If they only feature one brand (in your case Stampin Up) that’s fine with me because SU is one of my favorite’s:) I think the blogger needs to please herself first, and then pleasing others will come naturally if you are happy with your brand and the work you do with it:)
Use what you love!
Hi Jeanna, I think if you only feature SU products that would be great because so we can see new layouts with the same rubber stamps. So it is not boring for me to have the stamps but no idea for stamping!Thank you for sharing your ideas in your blog. Regards Susanne
Okay so this is the first time posting to ANYONE’s blog….:)…But I had to say that I do enjoy reading your blog and the projects that you post to share with everyone. I really, really, loved the clock!! I have to ask, since it is approaching Christmas and I love to make gifts….Can you ask your neighbor where she bought those lovely clocks??? I would love to make some for family for Christmas..Again love your blog and keep the fun coming! And congrats on your blog milestone:)
okay didn’t read all the instructions….I look at alot of blogs with and without SU, but I like to see what all is out there and what everyone is useing. I love SU first and foremost but sometimes you just have to have something cute another company has….And you do have to be true to yourself first.
I like your blog! I look at blogs for inspiration, SU! or not. In fact I am a demo (mainly hobby) and this year branched out stamping with other stamps (mainly clear) and my creativity has definitely stepped up a few notches and I’m happier! Do what’s best for you. Thanks for the blog candy & congrats on the hits!
I look at a lot of blogs, but the thing I like about ones that feature SU products is that I can get my hands on these things easily. There are two SU demos at my church, but the LSS in my area carries very little stamping stuff and the Hobby Lobby is the only other place in my town to get stamps and their supply is limited. Sometimes I see cute cards and have no idea where to get the stuff to make them and that bums me out. SU is easily my favorite company and I would be pleased to read a blog dedicated to their products.
I don’t only look for blogs with SU! samples, but I do tend to look for blogs that use stamps from companies I like. There are a few other companies besides SU! that I buy and use so I look for ideas for those also.
It doesn’t matter to me what company someone uses on their blog. If it was all Stampin Up I would love to get ideas on what I can do with the SU sets I own. I didn’t like the Western sets when they were first featured in the new catalog, but I’ve grown to love them now, because I’ve seen so many fun ideas from blogs that feature that awesome set.
I guess I like a little of both but I love to see SU stuff since I am a new demonstrator and love the ideas. I see so many great things on blogs and that is how I do all my CASING. It seems more fun than SCS because I feel like I am getting to know some of you ladies.
I love SU and I am an SU customer and thinking seriously about becoming a Demo.
I love crafting..stamping..scraping and I love variety. I do buy other stamps and paper and embellishments that are not SU..like at the LSS
where I can buy and use the same day and not have to wait.
I like to visit all blogs to see whats out there..so much inspiration ! You have a nice blog and will get many visitors. Thanks for a chance to WIN blog candy.
