OSAT Blog Hop – Sixteen Candles – All About Birthdays!!!
Hello! Hope everyone is having a good day! I am back today with the One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop. This month's theme was perfect for me – Sixteen Candles! We are all sharing birthday ideas!!!! I love creating for birthdays.
A few weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me if I would create a banner for her for a birthday party. She usually orders banners from me a few times a year, so I wasn't surprised. However, this time it was for her sweet little puppies!!!! This is SO CUTE! The only guidelines she gave me were, "bright & fun!" Instead of intentionally lining up every letter and circle, I thought that it would be fun to make the letters a little bouncy… much like how I picture her sweet littles.
Each banner piece is 4 1/4" x 2 3/4" , meaning that you can cut 8 pieces from just one sheet or cardstock! The circles are all cut from the Layering Circles dies. I will say that the set of dies I used for the letters is no longer available through Stampin' Up!, I've made all her banners with it, and figured it would be nice to have them all be the same in her photos! Don't worry though, we still have a few other letter die options available (I'll list them below). I'd be more than happy to work with you if you wanted some advice on how to re-create this.
Well, sometimes I'm bad at math and over cut for my projects, including the banner above and I had a lot of left over pieces. That was just fine for me, tomorrow happens to be my middle son's birthday! The colors were perfect for a 14 year old boy.
Even though there is no stamping on this card, there is TONS of interest and texture. It suits him perfectly! To create a different look for the sentiment, I glued down the Whisper White die-cut to a piece of Basic Black, then carefully cut around it. I love the trendy look that it adds.
I hope that you enjoy all the amazing birthday ideas! I know I love being inspired by everything this team creates every month.
