I’m back – and a blog treasure

My little guy and I had a great weekend in So. Cal! He was my Mom’s surprise and whe was very happy.

I don’t have a project to share with you today, but I was hoping for some input. It might just be that I am getting spring fever, but I am in the mood to clean and update. I really want to change – MY STAMP ROOM! Yikes! When we moved in, it was the only room painted, and it is a beautiful cranberry color. It works great with my Raggedy Ann and Americana stuff, but I am feeling that I want it to have a brighter and crisper – maybe a cheerier feel to it. The rest of the house is close to Barely Banana and this room gets great afternoon (west facing – sun). I am toying around with the idea of painting it a Certainly Celery or bordering blue, maybe even soft sky or River Rock. So I am hoping that you’ll share your opinions with me! I’d like to do this as – BLOG CANDY!!!!! I have a GREAT stash of 3-d style projects and I’d love to share them with you!!! The winner (random generator – regardless of the color I pick) will receive a box full of goodies – lots of Stampin’Up! samples and maybe even a few extra goodies too. ETA – If I choose a "Stampin’ Up!" color – I will also send the winner a package of 8.5×11 cardstock in that color!!!! I’ll choose the entry on Friday afternoon at 9a.m. pacific!

So -if you had a fabulous stamping room and could paint it any color combo – what would you choose? Seen any photos of great rooms – add the link – I’d love to see them!

  1. Hi, what a tough question! I have a great craft room but since we’re renting I can’t paint it :(! If I were able to, I think I’d paint it a warm brown on one main wall and then a lighter brown on the other walls! This way I could use almost any color to accent, pink, turqouise, red or even black! All the great project you display would really pop even your Raggedy Ann and Americana goodies! Good luck with your choice!

  2. hmmm… I’m a new reader and a new stamper. If I had a fab Stampin’ room it would have a chalkboard on one wall so that my kids could draw and I think maybe white with a varnish (can you eve do that) so we could stamp the other wall… then… probably a nice yellow.
    Sounds pretty crazy!
I think, however that you should go Sy with a River ROck border and accents.

  3. I really like the idea of Soft Sky — to me that says bright and cheery, which is what you want. It’s not too strong of a color that would be overpowering. My living room is a River Rock/Khaki color — it’s a good base color and then you could add lots of different colors. I would love a sleek Soft Sky, White and touch of black craft room. I am not an adventurous color person — wish I were! I think I just don’t know what goes good with what.

  4. Love the colors you are thinking about using. I would use the river rock and use the other colors for accents in the room. You could use one of the color for a border and stamp words or images on the border or even stencil something on the border. You could use wood words and paint and decorate them and put on the walls or around the room. Hope this helps and can’t wait to see what you have decided to do. Thanks for a chance.

  5. Hmm…if I could paint my room I would probably paint it Certainly Celery or Mellow Moss with accents in Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip or maybe River Rock. I personally love those colors together! Good luck with your decision! I will try and help more if I can think of other ideas! 😀

  6. Oh! I just thought of something! You can throw this comment out of the running if you want since I have already posted but I needed to tell you this! 😉 I just remembered that I saw these great sheer window scarfs at Wal-Mart and they were almost the same color as Certainly Celery! If I remember correctly they were only like $5 a piece too! I like the feel of them because they are light and allow lots of sun into the room! They seem to brighten the room up! Anyway, I hope this helps! If I think of more I will let you know! 😀

  7. I love green, but right now I am thinking when I paint my room, I’m going to use a soft taupe/brown color and then I can accent with whatever color combo mood I am into at any given time. Ü

  8. My vote would be the Certainly Celery…
Such a cheerful color! and almost any color
    would be great with this.
    **Welcome Back…Glad to hear you
    had a Great time!

  9. I love the colors you mentioned; I think I would go for certainly celery as a first choice; bashful blue comes in a close second. Have fun with whatever color you choose. jmniffer

  10. A craft room – something I can only dream of! relaxing colors – shades of greens would be my choice, celery, moss, forest as an accent. Or, to inspire creativity, go for oranges, rusts, reds & yellows. Both would work well with a sun-lit room. Can’t wait to see pics of the finished room

  11. while i was reading, befor eyou suggested a color, my immediate thought was certainly celery so i guess we think alike. my studio has three wass painted a very pale tan and the fourht wall that same tan…just three shades darker. to be honest…it was left from painting our formal living room…but if i had it to do over….it would be a cheery color like celery…however i am oving groovy guava more and more!!!!! this is a great blog candy…thanks for the chance to win it!

  12. Sounds like fun – I think soft sky and river rock would be so pretty and soothing. Very beachy. Love your blog!!

  13. I think Certainly Celery would be a great color. I think it would make the room feel calm and relaxing. Also there are so many other great colors that you could use as accents.

  14. My craft room is a bright yellow, with orange sponging to “tone down” the colour a little bit. I LOVE IT!! It is very cheery, and bright and it makes me happy every time I go in. I would recommend something light and cheerful.
