Creation Station Mad As A Hatter Mash Up – Geared Up Garage and Dressed to Impress?
Hello!!! Welcome, friends!
Back again today with the amazing Creation Station Blog Hop! It's a seriously fun theme today, and I can not wait to see what everyone on the team has come up with, I am sure we will be in for a treat!
Cool, right? Here were our challenge guidelines, "Create the Unexpected. Select a totally outlandish color palette or use stamps and dies in an entirely unforeseen manner. Have fun and go crazy."
TOTALLY stumped me a bit!!! I went back and forth over what to use. I finally came up with something I think works.
Now, while I know that it might not look like too crazy of a mash up, I haven't seen too many cards using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and dies for "girl" cards, and I am not sure that it's been paired up with an image from the Dressed to Impress stamp set!
Kind of fun though, right? I started my coloring my car with my Lovely Lipstick Blends. I wanted some fun, Lovely Lipstick Metallic gears as accents, so after I cut some from my Silver Metallic Paper, I colored them with the Blends as well. This doesn't really work well for larger shapes, but it works pretty good on smaller ones!
I also wanted to make sure I had lots of texture on my "oil" paper, so I ran it through my embossing machine with the Subtle 3D Embossing folder in like 3 directions! super fun. I also love all the texture that the larger gear die-cuts add to the background of the card!
I hope you have a blast going through the hop today! Next up is the lovely and talented Elizabeth Price. Her projects are always amazing!
