A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop – Expressions in Color
Hello! I am so happy to have you joining me today. Stampin' Up! did an amazing job once again with this month's Paper Pumpkin. As much as I love the cards that they design for the kit, I love creating my own with the supplies. Today's hop is sure to give you lots of great ideas with this kit!
The kit comes with some gorgeous elements that mimic the look of the super trendy alcohol ink blending technique, a fun stamp set, and gorgeous vellum elements. It also beautifully coordinates with the Artistically Inked Suite that is featured in the Stampin' Up1 Annual Catalog. I decided to really dissect the parts to this kit, add in a few elements from the suite, and create a card and gift card holder.
For this card I used the back of one of the card bases, and mounted it on a Smoky Slate card base. I distressed the edges and gave it some flair with some splattered ink. I added a piece of Basic White Cardstock that I embossed with the Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder under one of the vellum elements from the kit. I colored the back of the vellum with my Stampin' Blends, and I love the soft look that it gives. I tucked one of the die cuts from the coordinating Artistic Dies behind to further enhance the main image. I love how it turned out.
This gift card holder is created from one of the awesome Ombre Gift Bags. These things seriously rock. This time I used regular Fresh Freesia Cardstock with the Smoky Slate, and added a strip of the alcohol ink pattern from the card front on one of the inserts. This one really shows off the gorgeous die from the Artistic Die Set.
